Dimitri Pavlotsky commissioned this Studio Visit Video to show his process and his work. There are slides of his early work showing classical training and figurative skills. Then he walks us through the planning and painting of one his big, very thick impasto works. Small sketches, large sketches, mixing paints, putting it on so thick that it moves by itself after it's applied.
His former School of the Art Institute professor, Marian Krychka, shot in his own Ravenswood studio, comments on Dimitri's style and development.
